This is a tall project in the form of a mug with a pulled handle. It is about 4 inches tall and it is considerably taller than it is wide. It is burgundy matte on the inside, the handle, and the crown. However, there is clear over the burgundy matte on the inside and the handle, making it shiny. A new skill I had to use in order to make this was layering glazes in order to get my desired effect. The simple coloring of this piece and the fact that it is repeated throughout the piece creates one unified project. The powerful color of the burgundy is allowed to stand out more against the beige of the clay, which makes a bold statement in color.
